October 31: Virgin Voyages “Shiptease”

Virgin Voyages has announced that it will give a “#shiptease” (ship reveal) during a Facebook Live event on October 31.

The company, led by President and CEO Tom McAlpin, has promised to reinvent the cruise vacation.

Virgin will introduce their first ship of three (each being 110,000 gross tonnes, carrying 2,800 passengers) into service in 2020, from Miami.

The yard cut steel on the first of three ships for the company in March.

Malcolm says: Virgin have only released some very basic details about their ships: the tonnage and passenger capacity. There have been no official renderings, yet. However renderings, were leaked (see below).

Call me sceptical, but I find it hard to imagine that the ships will really look like this:
