Viking Ocean Cruises – 16 Ships On Order.

Viking Cruises and Fincantieri announced an agreement for six further ocean-going newbuilds. The deliveries would come in 2024 (one), 2025 (two), 2026 (two) and 2027 (one).

Viking’s current ocean fleet includes four all-veranda-stateroom ships of 47,800gt, each accommodating 930 passengers. The line will welcome two more sister ships in the next two years, including Viking Orion this June and Viking Jupiter in 2019. Plus, 10 additional ships are now on order.

Sixteen ships is an all-time record, the highest number from a single shipowner for a shipyard.

Portsmouth International Port Welcomes Viking

Viking Cruises made a maiden call at Portsmouth International Port on Friday 29th September 2017, when ‘Viking Star’ arrived at the UK south coast port.

Viking Star berthed after sailing overnight from Le Havre, part of a 15 night cruise. The cruise started in Viking Star’s home port of Bergen, Norway. After leaving Portsmouth the ship is heading to Falmouth, and then onto stops in Portugal and Spain.

Situated just off the English Channel, Portsmouth International Port is scheduled to welcome Viking Cruises again in 2018.
