Virgin Voyages will put its fourth ship, the Brilliant Lady, into revenue service starting September 2025 and sailing from New York City.
Sir Richard Branson, Founder of Virgin Group, said, “Virgin Voyages started as a simple idea for me and has blossomed into the world’s top cruise line with a full fleet of ships. This ship is going to be brilliant in every possible way, and that includes the incredible new places we can travel to. Alaska, LA, New York – here we come!”
Of note, the ship has been tweaked from tis sisters to be able to transit the Panama Canal, meaning it will operate in Alaska for summer 2026.

Malcolm says: I’m amazed that in this crazy era of ‘wokery’, that you can have cruise ships called “Lady”. That’s hardly gender-neutral, is it? (Do Mermaids even identify as female?) I’m even more surprised that all the Virgin ships have an image of a semi-naked woman, on their hulls. Maybe, she is seen as representing an ethnic minority (Mermaids) or the disabled, as she doesn’t have an legs? Her sister “Scarlet” is even named after a working girl!

“The world’s top cruise line”? Hold it a minute Sir Branson: it’s a top cruise line yeah, but the top? Idk about that. And good point at the end Malcolm! I guess tradition trumps deviance once again! XD
